An official source from Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade revealed that sale of textiles and clothing bounced back after US buyers returned to place orders for the fourth quarter and early 2008.
This trend shows that Vietnamese textile and apparel products have been able to retain the confidence of the US importers. Government's efforts has controlled the textile and apparel exports to the US market in order to prevent any dumping case which will be used by US Department of Commerce to levy anti–dumping tax.
In the first eight months of 2007, Vietnam exported US $5.1 billion worth of textile and apparel products, showing an increase of 30 percent. The industry expects to touch $7.5 billion in the entire year.
