USA : Branded outerwear receives good response at Wilsons

Wilsons The Leather Experts Inc reported sales of $16.3 million for the four weeks ended September 1, 2007 as compared to $15.8 million for the four weeks ended August 26, 2006.
Year-to-date sales for the Company's stores decreased 15.9% to $117.5 million compared to $139.7 million for the same period last year.
Comparable store sales decreased 0.2% for the four weeks ended September 1, 2007; this decrease compares to an 18.5% decrease in comparable store sales for the four weeks ended August 26, 2006.
Year-to-date comparable store sales decreased 15.1% compared to a decrease of 13.7% for the same period last year.
Michael Searles, Chief Executive Officer, commented, "Our new branded outerwear arrived in stores during the second half of the month of August and was well received."
"Comparable store sales results in our mall stores increased 16.5% during August. We did, however, slip in outlets, where comparable store sales results decreased 10.9%."
