India:Chiripal launches lifestyle apparel brand Connexions

The Ahmedabad-based Chiripal group, one of India’s leading textile conglomerates is redefining its business by launching its own Lifestyle apparel brand.
Called “ConneXions”, it will be a quintessential Lifestyle brand of Men’s and Women’s casual wear which will be sold through the company’s own exclusive outlets in the first phase and later through the franchisees in the second phase.
The first exclusive outlet of Connexions has opened at Ten Acres Mall in the city. The other outlets to come up later will be located at R3 Mall Gurukul and Vitthal Mall, New C.G. Road.
Vishal Chiripal, Director of the group said “the launch of exclusive brand was to provide “premium quality garments and accessories at value prices.”
He said: “ConneXions has been created for the class conscious and suave upper middle class striving to make a fashion statement.
It is an aspirational brand synonymous with quality, creativity and individuality – symbolising timeless, relaxed living.
The brand is designed to target Men and Women in the 17-35 age group who want to look and be youthful, trendy and “in” with the fashion.
The ConneXions collection comprises casual wear such as Knit T-shirts, Denim Jeans, skirts, Capri, Polar jackets, Party-wear and Night-wear that appeals to Young Generation.
ConneXions women's apparel is a combination of rich colour and beautiful texture. From feminine Knit dresses and vibrant Flock print Tops to Denim skirts, one will find these the season's must-haves for work and weekend wardrobes.

The ConneXions Men's collection attribute is comfort. For the Casual wear, the collection offers Poplin shirt with the Polar Fleece Jacket, a flavour of the season for up market audience.
The group has plans to open 30 such brand outlets during 2008-09. Of these 11 will be in Gujarat four in Ahmedabad, two in Vadodara, two in Surat, one each in Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar.
These will be followed by four outlets in Mumbai, one each at Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Indore, Bhopal, Jaipur and Udaipur.) In addition to own outlets there will be 50 franchisee outlets, which will come up during September 2008-March 2009.
The group estimates that the retail foray would add Rs. 50 Crores per annum to the group’s kitty significantly contributing to the bottom-line.
