Nachiket Barve
Nachiket Barve has trained at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, besides studying at ENSAD Paris on a scholarship awarded by the French Government. He has worked with Michael Kors at CELINE in Paris as well as with couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and textile designer Neeru Kumar. He is renowned for his innovative and modern use of Indian textiles and techniques in a contemporary way for fashion. His last collection won the stamp of approval from the grande dame of fashion, Suzy Menkes herself, who saw the collection at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. NACHIKET BARVE, the label stands for the philosophy that the designer believes in, which is that of luxury expressed in a contemporary, fresh and innovative way. The label stands for garments that are understated, comfortable yet luxurious. The focus of the label is on “Demi-Couture”, using couture quality textiles for off-the-rack garments. The essence of the label lies in “Redefining Luxury” for a global audience.
