Sep. 11, 2010 - It is reported that SGL Carbon expects its production of graphite electrodes to rise in the second half of 2010 and group profit to jump 10 percent for the full year, boosted by higher prices.
Robert Koehler, chief executive of the carbon specialist said that he expects a 10 percent rise in earnings before interest and taxes and a single-digit percentage increase in revenue at the group level.
The ability to force through price hikes for new orders since May has been a key driver of profits for the firm, he said.
Production at SGL Carbon's new carbon fibre factory in the United States, which it plans to build together with BMW, is set to commence in the third quarter of 2011, Koehler said.
