RHI AG Celebrates 50 Years of Refractory Research

Oct. 21, 2010 - RHI AG's Technology Center in Leoben, Austria, has now been making refractories innovations for 50 years. In 1960, the center was officially presented to the public as a research institute of what was then Veitscher Magnesitwerke. The initial team consisted of 42 people.
Today, RHI is a global technology leader with 31 production sites on four continents, with worldwide research and development in Leoben. More than 150 employees continuously work on the research and further development of existing refractory products and raw materials in state-of-the-art industrial laboratories and test facilities. More than 500 patents and 1500 industrial property rights have been received, as well as multiple awards for scientific papers.
RHI celebrated its anniversary with current and former employees, partners, customers, and guests at a ceremony on October 15. Following the ceremony, guests received a guided tour of the Technology Center.
