Iluka rations zircon due to supply constraints

Oct. 26, 2010 - ILUKA Resources is rationing zircon supply to customers because it cannot meet demand.
In its September quarter report yesterday, Iluka said it had reached nameplate capacity in July at its Jacinth-Ambrosia mine in far west South Australia and at Murray Basin 2 - but could meet demand.
On October 1, it increased zircon prices which are now about $US1000/tonne and 30 per cent higher than at the end of 2009.
Year-to-date, Iluka has mined 500,000 tonnes of concentrate at J-A, with 270,000 tonnes of that processed into final product.
