Nov. 2, 2010 - Kocaeli-based CVS Makina, Turkey's only engineering and plantmaking company for the iron and steel sector, has announced that it will supply a ladle furnace to Bursa, Turkey-based steelmaker Cemtas A.S.
As a result of the investment, the low-heat steel produced by the vacuum process will be put into an additional heating process in the new ladle furnace. The process will also eliminate the unwanted substances in steel, also conducting a final composition adjustment on the material. The new equipment will also shorten the electric arc furnace and ladle furnace process periods, thus increasing the output levels.
According to the contract signed by the two sides, in addition to the 30 mt ladle furnace, CVS Makina will provide Cemtas with a dust collecting unit, both to be installed within six months.
