Xuanhua Steel of Hebei, China starts converter No 1

Nov. 18, 2010 - It is reported that Hebei Province based Chinese steel producer Xuanhua Iron and Steel Co Ltd subsidiary of major domestic steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group has successfully ignited converter No 1 at its new steelmaking project.
The project, launched on October 25th 2009, involved the building of a converter of 490 tonnes in weight, 7,300 mm in diameter and 10,294 mm in height. The designed annual production capacity of molten steel of the converter is 3.4 million tonnes approximately.
