ArcelorMittal Galati to restart BF No 3 in January 2011

Dec. 20, 2010 - It is reported that ArcelorMittal Galati intends to restart its blast furnace No 3 at the beginning of January 2011, two weeks earlier than originally scheduled.
It may be noted that ArcelorMittal Galati closed its BF No 3 from November 19th 2010 due to the decrease in orders and was operating just with one of its two operating BFs.
ArcelorMittal Galati's BF No 5, after modernization in which the company is investing about EUR 53 million, is planned to be restarted in the summer of 2011 and will allow the plant to double its annual pig iron production from 2.2 million tonnes to over 4.2 million tonnes.
