Mar. 1, 2011 - South Africa-based Andalusite Resources Pty Ltd annouces its andalusite production capacity has been expanded by 30% since mid-2010 as part of its overall programme to boost production over the next three years to 80-100,000 tpa.
The Maroeloesfontein deposit lies in a flat area, and construction of the plant commenced in March 2002 and plant commissioning was started in November of that year. At the planned production rate of 30,000 tons per annum, the mine has a reserve life of over 40 years.
