Apr. 6, 2011 - Gouda Refractories BV recently acquired extra factory grounds thus enabling their growth ambition to come true. Detailed plans for the building of an additional third tunnel kiln are being processed at this moment.
Gouda Refractories BV has, together with their parent company Andus Group BV, recently purchased an adjacent yard in the industrial zone Kromme Gouwe in Gouda, The Netherlands. The acquired premises have a total surface of 2,3 hectares (5,7 acres).
The main reasons for this acquisition are Gouda Refractories' plans for further growth. By expanding their production facilities Gouda Refractories will be able to meet the increasing demand for refractory solutions from the markets they operate in. Strongly growing geographical markets such as the Middle East require more and more capacity.
It goes without saying that Gouda Refractories strives for additional cost-effective and logistical benefits in keeping their operational activities at one single strategic location.
In the next two years Gouda Refractories BV will build a third tunnel kiln at the new premises which will increase the production capacity for refractory bricks with approximately 60%. Gouda Refractories BV expects the new kiln to be fully operational in the first half of 2013.
