Apple wholesalers don't expect big volumes of Chinese fruit to be imported this year.
The Chinese apple season is wrapping up, while Australia's season is about to get started. Rowan Little from Montague Fresh says it's too early to tell how much market share the imported apples will take, but he expects they'll be cheaper than local fruit.
"My guess is that they would be a little cheaper. "I think the biggest challenge we've got at the moment is just that there's very few Fuji in the market at all in Australia and our guess is that all that fruit that comes in will be Fuji apples out of China."
