Maersk Line launches ocean route between China, West Africa

The World's largest shipper of containers, Maersk Line, opened a new route linking Fuzhou in China with ports in the African countries of South Africa, Nigeria, Cameroon, among others, Saturday.
A total of 10 cargo ships capable of carrying 2,500 twenty-foot equivalency units (TEUs), a standard measure of capacity, will transport goods along the new route.
Cargo throughput of Fuzhou port was 640,000 TEUs in 2010, up 25 percent on the previous year.
