Dried nuts, notorious for their high fat content, could be healthfully produced, according to Papa an Dried Fruits & Nuts' Chairman Kani Emeki. While speaking to the Hrriyet Daily News & Economic Review, the chairman said they have launched their most recent product 'Papa an Fit' with an aim to prove that. "We are targeting white-collar people who abstain from sun flower seeds or pistachios due to high-fat values." Papa an Fit is a trail mix product including cranberries, dried kiwi, almonds, cashews and hazelnuts. The dried nuts are packaged without being roasted. Recalling a consumer's previous complaint about the product, Emek?i said that the consumer who made a call to their office said the product was stale. "Because we are all so accustomed to the crunchiness of roasted dried nuts, their natural texture, which is softer and not crunchy at all, tastes as if it were stale. We had to put a note on the package explaining this."
Papa an attaches importance to innovation, he said, adding that the 50 percent growth the company registered in 2010 owed greatly to its innovative approach.
