On May 15 to 17, 2010, NSFC Vice President Prof. He Minghong attended the JST Green Innovation Symposium --- International Challenge for Promoting Green Innovation to Realize a Low Carbon Society Worldwide in Tokyo, Japan, and presented a plenary talk titled Common Desire to Green Innovation and Sustainable Development .
The Symposium was hosted by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and Ministry of Education, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). 9 funding agencies including JST, NSFC, NRF of Korea, DFG, EPSRC, ANR of France, VINNOVA of Switzerland, NSF, and CONACYT of Mexico sent their representatives to the Symposium.
During the visit, Japan Science and Technology Daily interviewed Prof. He for his view on China s policies on Green Innovation. JST arranged the visits to major Japanese companies with high standards on Green Innovation, such as the production base of Solar Energy of SHARP at Osaka Green Front, Panasonic Center Tokyo, etc.
