The NSFC-supported research vessel Shiyan No.3 , or Experiment No.3, of South China Sea Institute of Oceanology (SCSIO) returned home after fulfilling its mission of the 2010 multi-disciplinary cruise in the South China Sea. A ceremony for its homing was held on May 25 in Guangzhou. NSFC President Chen Yiyu, as well as officials and experts from the Ministry of Education, Chinese Academy of Science, NSFC and SCSIO, attended the ceremony. NSFC has been making much effort through funding to bring research resources integrity, sharing and cooperation, so as to meet challenges from academic problems and scientific issues.
