On June 27, 2010, the opening ceremony of TWOWS Fourth General Assembly and International Conference on Women Scientists in a Changing World was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping attended the ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Over 600 female scientists from more than 50 countries were at their presence. The meeting was jointly hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Third World Academy (TWAS) and the Third World Organization for Women in Science (TWOWS), with NSFC as one of the co-sponsors. NSFC President Prof. Chen Yiyu delivered a congratulation remarks.
