A NSFC delegation led by Vice President Sun Jiaguang paid a visit to Japan and the US from May 26 to June 4, 2010, at the invitation of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The visit was to learn about best practices of counterpart agencies in international evaluation on science funding and management.
During its stay to Japan, the delegation visited the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and RIKEN. While in the US, the delegation visited Stanford University, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Scientific Review Center of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
