NSFC President Chen Yiyu cordially met with Dr. Suzanne Fortier, President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) on September 30, 2010. During the meeting, both sides presented introductions of the latest development of their organizations. The two sides recognized that there are abundant opportunities for bilateral scientific and technological cooperation between China and Canada, especially the collaboration between young scientists from both countries.
The discussion also addressed such topics of mutual interest as priority areas for future cooperation, integration of education, research and production, etc.
Dr. Suzanne Fortier was accompanied by Mr. Abdelmajid Dellah and Ms. Wang Ruoyu from the Embassy of Canada in Beijing. Participants of NSFC in the meeting also included Profs. Chen Yongjun, Li Ming, Bai Ge, etc.
