Miss Zimbabwe Tourism crowned 2nd at Queen Int'l

Miss Tourism Zimbabwe, First Princess, Happiness Tshuma has made the nation proud when she was crowned second in a talent show at the Miss Tourism Queen International in China, The Chronicle reported on Thursday.
Tshuma put up a splendid performance to claim a respectable second position out of 40 contestants on Tuesday night. Tshuma came behind Miss Sri Lanka.
On Monday the contestants were taken by ship to the famous Tea Island, where some of the best tea in the world is produced. The beauty of the place amazed the contestants.
They had the opportunity to mingle with locals and visitors and they danced, tasted some delicious tea during the world famous tea ceremony.
The event which was held in China saw Tshuma becoming the second Zimbabwean participating at the prestigious pageant.
Former Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2007 first princess Avril Mhemberetook part in the event.
This year s camp commenced on Friday and saw Tshuma joining other beauty queens from all over the world in camp.
The contestants were taken to various destinations in China as part of the pageant to sample and appreciate what China as a destination holds. Tshuma used the time to play an ambassadorial role marketing the country as an ultimate tourist destination in Africa and showing the other beauties what Zimbabwe as a tourism destination has on offer.
The history of the Miss Tourism Queen International dates back to 1949, when it was founded by Charlie See.
With each country s tourism ambassadors gathering together, Miss Tourism Queen International aims to enhance the tourism development, the friendship among different countries, and international culture exchange.
