France-based Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech and Belgium based Victor Mugabe will link up with Kenyan national team Harambee Stars Tuesday for their international friendly against South Africa in Johannesburg.
Oliech, who plays for Ligue 1 AJ Auxerre, and Mugabe, a younger brother of Inter Milan midfielder MacDonald Mariga, were expected in Nairobi on Monday before jetting off to South Africa a day later.
The friendly against Bafana Bafana will be played Wednesday. The first batch of the Kenyan team under Coach Zedekiah Otieno arrived in Johannesburg on Monday.
"Oliech and Mugabe will arrive in Nairobi then connect to South Africa to join the rest of the team. We will also conduct our first training on Tuesday," Stars team manager Edward Oduor disclosed late on Monday.
Among the players who travelled in the first batch were: Jockins Atudo, Bob Mugalia, Anthony Kimani, Jerim Onyango, Team officials Salim Ali (Asst.Coach), Edward Oduor (Team Manager), Wycliffe Makanga(Team doctor) and Sunil (Goalkeeper Trainer).
The Bafana friendly was hastily organized by Football Kenya Limited (FKL) after an earlier home fixture against Zambia was called off last minute.
"The South African deal was better since they promised to foot all expenses," FKL official Hussein Swaleh said, offered as a reason for the cancellation of the Zambia match that Kenya were to foot expenses.
