Bad weather conditions have resulted to flights to and from Samui Island in Thailand to be cancelled, leaving thousands of tourists stranded.
The roads of Chaweng and fisherman village of Bophut have been reported to be submerged in metre high flood waters. According to a report in Tour Expi, the weather forecast by the Thai Meteorological Department indicated prolonged rainfall until Wednesday, although with lesser precipitation. Airline personnel have yet to provide a definitive answer as to when the stranded tourists can depart the island. A Bangkok Airways representative has indicated, however, that passengers with international connections will be prioritised once weather conditions have improved.
