The Total Retail Sale of Consumer Goods Increased 12.5% in the First Two Months

The total retail sale of consumer goods was 1264.4 billion yuan in the first two months 2006, rose by 12.5% as compared with the same period of last year. of which, 15.5% increase in January and 9.4% in February.

In terms of different merchandises, the retail sale of wholesale and retail trade above designated size, the foodstuff, clothing and commodities rose by 13.5% 16.6% and 24.5% respectively as compared with the same period of last year. of which, gain and oil rose by 18.9%; that of meat, poultry and eggs rose by 7.7%; that of garments, shoes, caps and other textile products rose by 16.6%; that of culture and office facilities rose by 13.0%; that of sports and entertainment appliances rose by 16.2%; that of commodities rose by 15.0%; that of household electrical appliances and AV facilities rose by 17.3%; that of cosmetics rose by 16.6%; that of furniture rose by 11.8%; that of construction and decoration material rose by 18.4%; that of jewelries rose by 23.0%; that of communication equipment rose by 24.8%; that of vehicles rose by 29.5% and that of petroleum and relative products rose by 40.6%.
