2nd Annual Meeting of Chinese-French Joint Laboratory for Sustainable Energy(CFJLSE)

The Meeting was held on 2nd June at DICP. Attendees of the Meeting included Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP and Person-in-Charge of CFJLSE representing the Chinese side, Prof. Ling-ai Luo, Director of the Laboratory of Design Optimization & Environmental Engineering of Polytech'Savoie Ecole d'ingenieurs, France, and Person-in-Charge of CFJLSE representing the French side, Mr.

QIU Huashing, Vice-Director of International Cooperation Bureau of CAS, Prof. YUAN Weikang, Member of CAS and Professor of East-China Technical University, Ms. Catherine Bastien Ventura, Director of Ecology & Environment Department of CNRS, France, as well as other 40 Chinese and French experts of the energy and environment fields.

The CFJLSE was established in January 2008. It is a non-corporate research institution organized by CAS and CNRS, and is made up of several national laboratories of China and France. It is expected that this Joint Laboratory can provide a platform for collaborative investigations on sustainable energies by Chinese and French researchers. Annual meetings of the Joint Laboratory will be held alternatively in France and China, and the first annual meeting was convened in Aix-les-Bains of France from 9th to 16th of January, 2008.

Four main topics were discussed in the Annual Meeting of this year, namely, solar energy, process enforcement and capturing-separating of CO2, hydrogen energy and fuel cells, and conversion and utilization of bio-masses. In-depth exchanges were carried out between the participating Chinese and French scientists.
