It is revealed from the Economic Working Conference of Furong District in Changsha City & Commendation Conference on Establishing Businesses and Enriching the People that per capita GDP of Furong District of Changsha reached 126,057 yuan, topping all the districts of six provinces in central China. The local fiscal revenue amounted to 2.35 billion yuan, ranking first of all the districts throughout Hunan Province for ten consecutive years.

In recent years, the CPC Furong District Committee and the District Government have been adhering to the development concept of "getting close to, supporting and enriching the businessmen". They have vigorously promoted the development of modern service industries such as banking, security, insurance and consulting, enhanced efficiency of developing building economy and established the central business district (CBD). Up to now, with over 140 commercial buildings of ten-odd storeys standing in its core area of 2.7 square kilometers, attracting nearly 3000 enterprises, among which 23 are the World's Top 500 enterprises like HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited, Siemens and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Furong CBD has become the area with the most economic dynamic in Changsha and even the whole central China region.
