Large-scale Publicity Campaign on Commemorating World Water Day Was Held in Jinan

On the forenoon of March 21, large-scale publicity campaign on commemorating World Water Day and World Meteorology Day was held by Jinan Municipal Bureau of Water Conservation on the Quancheng Square of Jinan, Shandong Province. Zhao Wenchao, deputy mayor of Jinan municipal government presented in the campaign and sent water-saving devices to representatives for water conservation.

The theme of the World Water Day and China Water Week this year is that being strict with water resources management, and guaranteeing the sustainable development . At present, the water resources potential for development and utilization in Jinan has been very small, while it is seriously wasted.

The productivity coefficient for agricultural irrigation water is only 0.45 in Jinan City while those of developed countries are between 0.7~0.8. Water conservation departments in Jinan will hold activities on saving water on campus and in communities, and promote citizens to use water-saving devices, so as to save more water in agriculture, industry and city, and drive the construction of water-saving society.
