On November 28th, President Su Zhiwu held a meeting with General Secretary of the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) Mr. Jin Zailie, who attended the 8th Asian Media Forum and his wife Ms. Liang Shouzi.
During the meeting, President Su Zhiwu showed a warm welcome to General Secretary Jin Zailie s visit and exchanged ideas about the communication and cooperation between both sides. President Su Zhiwu expressed his appreciation that Jin Zailie had been working on providing financial aid for academic development and exchange of Asia for the past 30 years. The theme of this Asian Media Forum was International Experience in Triple Play and Path of China . Government leaders of China, Japan and Korea, department leaders and experts shared experiences, learned from each other and had deep discussion and dialogue about Triple Play. Much has been discussed in broadcasting, communications and Internet from aspects of policy systems, operating methods, audience behavior and media marketing in international perspective. It provided a new view for network development trend of next generation and explored China path and successful model of Triple Play. The meeting went very smoothly. It was the achievement of several years cooperation. Both sides hoped to break new ground for the exchange and cooperation through mutual efforts.
General Secretary Jin Zailie spoke highly of the great achievement that CUC has achieved in the field of higher education in media and he said it was an honor for KFAS to join in the construction and development of CUC. He noticed the fruitful results of bilateral cooperation and would like to support the development of academic research of CUC continually.
The Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies is a Non-profit public corporation that was founded in November of 1974, licensed and registered in South Korean Ministry of Education. It aims to promote academic development by subsidizing and cultivating talented people. The foundation has provided financial aid for hundreds of young scholars to study for PhD at prestigious universities or pay school visits, including several Chinese scholars and thousands of South Korean college students studying at home for the past 30 years. It also held a number of international academic forums.
The history of the communication and cooperation between CUC and KFAS is 10 years. Both sides established the academic research center---Asia Media Research Center together in June of 2002. Asia Media Research Center devotes to construct the academic resource network and thinking tanks of Asia media research via holding academic meetings, subsidizing outstanding issues, academic exchange and publications and selecting excellent scholars of CUC to pay exchange visits to Korea to do specific research in Asia Media.
