Upon the invitation of President Chen Xiaoyang, Ms. Mylene HARDY, Cooperation Commissioner of linguistics and Education, French Embassy in China and Prof. Jean-Jacques RICHER from University of Bourgogne came to visit SCAU on the afternoon of November 26.

The guests first visited the root nutrition laboratory hosted by Professor Liao Hong and the insect specimen laboratory which is under the cooperation with FrenchMuseum of Natural History by Prof. Tian Mingyi. Then President Chen Xiaoyang met with the guests. Ms. Mylene HARDY made a brief introduction of the French language training program and she expected that the two sides could further the exchange and cooperation in this regard in the future. It laid a solid foundation that SCAU had a group of scientists who understood the French language well for the mutual beneficial relationship.

President Chen Xiaoyang mentioned the importance of French. He said that with the development and expansion of the cooperation scope, it was a must to master another language besides English. SCAU had always attached great importance to the cooperation and collaboration with the counterparts in France. He hoped that with the support of French Embassy, SCAU could carry out language training as well as scientific and technological cooperation in areas of Agricultural Engineering and Agricultural Economic Management.
