On January 9th, Dr. Gerhard Maximilian Feldmeier, Vice-Rector of HB, Dr. Thomas Heinrich Max Wieske, Director of the Institute for Logistics Law & Risk Management, and Dr. Carsten Michael Dorn, Dean of the Technical and Logistics Faculty visited SDJTU.

Vice-President Zhang Cheng met with the guests in the Conference Room on the fourth floor. He expressed his warm welcome and briefed SDJTU s development. The guests also briefly introduced their university and departments respectively. During the meeting, both parties showed great interest in establishing cooperation relationship with each other.

After the meeting, the guests visited the Automobile Laboratory and the Library with the accompany of VP Zhang, and other officials from the General Office, the International Office, the Higher Education Research Institute and the Department of Transportation Engineering and Logistics Engineering.

President Feng Jinxiang met with the guests in the Conference Room in the Training Center. He extended an ardent welcome to the guests and appreciated their warm reception to SDJTU s delegation to HB in 2007. President Feng was confident about the future cooperation between the two universities, and he hoped the visits would resulted in enhancement of the mutual understanding between the two sides and the promotion of the friendship between the two peoples. After the meeting, Vice Rector Gerhard Maximilian Feldmeier and President Feng Jinxiang signed Letter of Intent for Institutional Co-operation Between Shandong Jiaotong University, China And Hochschule Bremerhaven, University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
Dr. Gerhard Maximilian Feldmeier particularly introduced two English programs in process in HB.
One is Master Program of Logistic Management. Applicants applying for the program should have a bachelor degree in this field in the first place, besides, applicants English proficiency should reach TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6.0, and have a basic knowledge of German;
The other is the two-week long English Summer Camp with the subject of Inter-Cultural Communication. HB has successfully organized this activity four years in a row. Teachers of the camp are invited from Netherlands, Spain, France, USA and Germany and the students are from all over the world. In addition to the teaching of intercultural communication, sightseeing, entertainment and parties are also organized during the camp. Dr. Feldmeier calls this summer camp program an ice-breaking trip, which aims to provide overseas students an experience of study and life in Germany to attract more outstanding overseas students to join their Logistic Management master program.
