On July 29, 2010, the International Solvothermal & Hydrothermal Association (ISHA) award committee unanimously selected Prof. Shu-Hong Yu, University of Science and Technology of China, for this prestigious award, in recognition of his outstanding and highly innovative contribution to the field of hydrothermal and solvothermal research. Prof. Shu-Hong Yu received this Roy-Somiya Medal and also a plaque from Prof.G rard Demazeau, President of ISHA, and New President of ISHA Prof.Sridhar Komarneni, on 29th July. 2010, China National Convention Center, Beijing. After receiving this award, Prof. Shu-Hong Yu delivered his award lecture Hydrothermal/Solvothermal Process: Powerful Routes for Controlled Synthesis of Functional Materials to the delegates of ISHA. Prof. Shu-Hong Yu was also elected as a council member of the International Solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association (ISHA) on the ISHA 2010.
ISHA 2010 Roy-Somiya Medal
The ISHA was established in 2006, which is an important association for solvothermal/hydrothermal community. The prestigious Roy-Somiya Medal of the International Solvothermal & Hydrothermal Association (ISHA) started in 2008 in honor of the two Patrons viz. Prof. Rustum Roy (Emeritus Professor of the Penn State University) and Prof. Shigeyuki Somiya (Emeritus Professor of the Tokyo Institute of Technology), which is in recognition of young scientist for outstanding and highly innovative contribution to the field of hydrothermal and solvothermal research. The selection of one candidate per two years was done by the honourable Council of the International Solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association (ISHA) under the category of young scientist award below the age group of 45 years.
