Mr. Xie Fuzhan Met with FSO Delegation of Price Statistics

Mr. Xie Fuzhan, Commissioner of National Bureau of Statistics, met with the delegation of price statistics headed by Ms. Irmtraud Beuerlein, Head of Division VA (Prices), Federal Statistical Office of Germany (FSO), on May 24. The Delegation paid visit to China for communicating with NBS on the experiences of price statistics and index from May 16-27.

Mr. Xie Fuzhan pointed out that, the cooperation on price statistics between agencies focused on producers price index, CPI and services index, establishment of these price indices has significance to China's macroeconomic, and the State Council also paid a great attention to it. Mr. Xie hoped that the relevant departments of NBS can improve China's price statistics and the price index compilation work by understanding and learning experiences seriously from Germany and other countries, combining with China's national conditions.

Messrs. Du Weiqun, Counsel, Department of International Cooperation; and Cheng Xuebin, Deputy Director-General, Department of Urban Survey, attended meeting.
