On 25 November 2008, Xiamen Customs District employed convenient clearance procedures and released 21.5 tons of fresh vegetable for people living in the Jinmen Islands.
With the change of the seasons, starting from November, Jimmen Islands sees frequent short supplies of fresh vegetable. To help alleviate the scarcity, YinXiang Trading Company in Xiamen managed to get tons of vegetable on 24 November and planned to ferry them out the next morning. Given the large quantity of the goods, the company didn t declare the goods until 16:00 on the afternoon of the day. Knowing this, Xiamen Customs District opened the Green Chanel and designated officers to take care of the issue. On the morning of 25th, Customs officers adopted specially-made measures and provided efficient clearance services to ensure the fresh vegetable be released in time.
