On Sep. 6, Sinochem International successfully completed the shipbuilding contract transfer with the Greek shipowner, and will purchase the two 13000 tonnage IMO II double hull & double bottom liquid chemical tankers being built in 21st Century Shipyard Co., Ltd, Korea.
It is learnt that the two ships will be completed separately in November, 2006 and January, 2007 and officially become a member of Sinochem International fleet.
15000 tonnage liquid chemical tankers, the variety in short supply in the domestic and international market, can assume the task of transportation in the area near the sea, along the sea and rivers, and meet the market demand of shipping lines from Middle East to Far East. The two new ships further improve the competitive edge of Sinochem International fleet.

After the signing of the contract by both parties, Xu Weihui, General Manager of Sinochem International, who was always highly concerned about the project, delivered an ardent speech that Sinochem International people are bound to do the best if they intend to do something. Although rapid development may bring challenges of operation and management to the company, Sinochem International saw the challenge and welcomed the challenge together with the most excellent partners.

Sinochem International is writing a new chapter of China chemical shipping history, in which the fleet scale will develop from the current 18 ships to 45 ships in the next three years, tank operation scale will develop from current 400 to 2500, taking the leading position in China and setting the industrial standard.

In the past four years, Sinochem International made rapid development in the field of liquid chemicals shipping, with the capacity of 102,600 tons and actual shipping business of 1.54 million tons, topping the domestic liquid chemical transportation industry. To better improve the management level, Sinochem International established the first joint venture shipping management company in China with Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group, ranking the second in the industry around the world, thus equipped with the capacity of meeting the requirement of CDI and large petroleum companies. CHEMBULK SINGAPORE and CHEMBULK FORTITUDE have entered the European market successfully.

Chinese market demand for liquid chemical transportation is increasing dramatically in recent years, the global chemical production are transferring to Middle East and Asian region. According to the forecast of Shanghai Shipping Exchange, annual accumulated transport of newly added projects will increase by more than 3 million tons in China from 2006 to 2009.

In the face of such a historical opportunity, Sinochem International is undoubtedly moving towards building Sinochem International into an Asian famous special liquid chemical shipping service provider with the highest Chinese standard and strongest power by expanding investment input to purchase the new ships.
