Jinghong Rubber Plant of Xishuangbanna Sinochem Rubber Co., Ltd Broke Ground

On December 18, Jinghong Rubber Plant of Xishuangbanna Sinochem Rubber Co., Ltd. ( Xishuangbanna Sinochem hereinafter), China s biggest natural rubber processing plant with state-of-the-art technology level invested and constructed by Sinochem International Corporation, was laid foundation in Menghan Town, Jinghong City, Dai Ethnic Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province.

Li Xuetao, Chairman of Xishuangbanna Sinochem, Xu Zhihe, General Manager of Xishuangbanna Sinochem, Liu Gonghua, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-general of Dai Autonomous Prefecture, and other officials as well as chief officers in charge of design, supervision and engineering construction of the project attended the ground-breaking ceremony.

Designed with an annual processing capacity of 40,000 tons, Jinghong Plant mainly produces high value-added popular premium rubber dedicated to all-steel radial tires, namely natural rubber graded according to international standard technology. On the basis of introducing and absorbing processing techniques for Malaysian rubber, the plant will adopt innovative, independently researched and developed production techniques, technology and equipment which hold leading position in both domestic and international industry.

Upon completion, Jinghong Plant will become China s largest natural rubber processing plant with state-of-the-art technology. Meanwhile, the project will strictly follow the principles of energy saving, emission reduction and scientific development, in order to organically integrate environmental protection and sustainable development.

The plant plans to invest RMB 14 million Yuan in the construction of waste water and exhaust gas treatment systems, and fire fighting safety systems, so that after completion its waste water treatment capability will meet state Category One discharge standard and achieve 85% recycled usage. The completion of this project will play an important role in the harmonious development of Yunnan s agricultural reclamation, the improvement, strengthening and refinement of Xishuangbanna s and Yunnan s non-governmental natural rubber industry.

In recent years, Sinochem International acquired three natural rubber processing enterprises, namely Hainan Anlian, Yunnan Xiangdong, and Hainan Chengxin, on the basis of which it set up Hainan Sinochem Rubber Co., Ltd. and Xishuangbanna Sinochem Rubber Co., Ltd. The completion of Jinghong Rubber Plant will lend powerful support to Sinochem International s strategy for natural rubber industry, so as to consolidate Sinochem International s overall leading role in domestic natural rubber sector, and also lay a foundation for the company s further business expansion into the Southeast Asian market.
