Form July 20 to 21, the Half Year Work Conference of SinoChem International was held, during which chairman Luo Dongjiang delivered an important speech, general manager Xu Weihui made the closing remark and Tan Hengde, deputy GM and CFO, made the First-half-year Performance Report on behalf of the administration. Senior executives and over 130 employee representatives from key posts were present at the meeting.

Form January to June, by carrying out promises and addressing the essential issues, SinoChem has focused on business integration in such core fields as logistic, rubber and pesticide and vehemently promoted the strategic transformation of chemical, metallurgy and energy business, among others, to the distribution service. In the first half of this year, sales revenue reached 8.5 billion yuan and 310 million yuan in net profits, an increase of 22% and 44% respectively, laying a solid foundation for the company to exceed the annual budget objective of 2007.

During his speech, Luo pointed out that SinoChem had scored the best performance over the past 3 years, with relatively good operation quality, execution of major strategic issues and further consolidation and enrichment of the company s business and an all-round implementation of the strategies. Through the establishment of modern enterprise operation system, industrial service and a steady and growing corporate management scheme, SinoChem strives to achieve the leading value return with leading learning, leading operation system, leading operation concept and leading management level.

Leaders from various business units also addressed at the meeting. Meanwhile, pressure management and McKinsey management trainings were carried out in the meeting.
