On March 21, Hainan Sinochem Rubber company joined hands with Danzhou municipal government, Danzhou Municipal Tropical Crop Technical Service Center and Chinese Academy of Tropical Agriculture to hold a training seminar on rubber tree treatment and post-disaster management of cold, frost and pest for over 200 rubber farmers at Nada Town.
Last year, Hainan Province sustained rare low temperature and cold weather; rubber trees in the whole province were severely inflicted with cold and wind damage. As rubber trees sustained large injury areas on trunks owing to cold, frost and wind, they were liable to attract pest, if no effective measures were taken, there would be serious consequences.
Sinochem Rubber painstakingly organized the seminar, through methods of theory explanation, consulting and on-site analysis, and observation, rubber farmers conducted face-to-face communication with experts and specialized professors, and received knowledge in post-disaster rubber tree protection, and treatment expertise, farmers were also given books of "Rubber Tree Cold and Frost Resistance Technology" and "Technical Measures for Cold Resistance, Disaster Relief and Rescue of Rubber Trees" free of charge.
