On January 28, a day with heavy snowfall, Sinochem International Corporation 2008 work conference was held in Tongli, Zhejiang province as scheduled.
It is the first conference since the new board of directors and leaders came to office. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the 2008 annual meeting, summarized the works done by the corporation in the last year, gave an objective analysis of various problems and opportunities faced by Sinochem International Corporation in the rapid development and laid out the overall arrangement for prioritized works in 2008.

Luo Dongjiang, the Board Chairman and Zhang Zenggen, the director and the General Manager had made an important speech respectively. Tan Hengde, the deputy General Manager and Finance Director made a report on performance evaluation for 2007 as a representative of the management team. Xian Ming, the standing deputy Manager, presided over the meeting. Nearly 150 staff holding the key positions attended the meeting.

Last year, under the leadership of the board of directors, Sinochem International Corporation accelerated the industry integration in key business areas, such as the logistics, rubber and agrochemicals by pooling resources together and further promoted the transition of the marketing business like chemicals and metallurgy energy to distribution services with prudence so as to improve the development of the overall businesses.

Each business in the corporation now has entered into a stage of healthy and quick development, and it is estimated that the sales revenue in the whole year will reach RMB18 billion, and the net profit will increased by 50% y.o.y


In the speech, Luo Dongjiang first introduced the corporation s breakthroughs in 2007 and its sound development in the future, which conveyed the theme of Mr. Liu s speech. Besides, Luo Dongjiang also pointed out that under the background of the corporation s rapid development, Sinochem International faces with the urgent crisis and huge pressure of would-be slowdown t if progressing forward at a low speed . Though the corporation has achieved progress and success in 2007, the corporation should set more great goals if it wants to become part of the globally renowned and respectable corporation. The company should position itself as the top corporation in international and domestic standards. At present, the corporation puts forward the policy of leading the industry , which means that the corporation should rank at least in the top three. It should not be taken as the company s development strategy if the company is incapable of realizing this goal.

Luo Dongjiang stressed that Sinochem International Corporation should stick to the principles of innovative operation, stable investment and intensive management in 2008. Each business center should put emphasis on the work that can promote the development in an all-around way in order to outperform this year s budget goals.

The corporation will not make stupid mistakes in terms of security, environmental protection, energy saving and emission reduction, etc. In addition, the ability to implement the industry integration strategy should be further increased, and the qualities like courage, carefulness, seeking truth and being practical should also be developed.

To form a group of talents which can adapt to the development required by the corporation and to strengthen the team of talents who hold the key positions in particular. Being confident and determined to realize the leap-forward development in 2008.


Zheng Zenggeng required a strategic breakthrough at the company s level to seek for the leap-forward development of the corporation. The key position holders should get rid of the ideas of being satisfied with a little wealth and comfort , and should look into the further and have higher pursuit. Their thinking and perspectives should center on the corporation s further and strategic development. With the deepening of the strategic transition, the corporation will intensify the management of the investment projects in 2008. In addition to the Department of Investment Project Management established by the corporation, each business center should try its best to play a leading role in 2008 so as to put the corporation s current operation management into a new height.
