Write: Wieslav [2011-05-20]
At 14:30 of the 15th, January, the "Goddess of Rainbow" owned by Sinochem International completed its plain sailing from Mailiao, Taiwan to the dock in Jian, Fujian with 3000 tons of Ethylene glycol loaded, becoming China s first chemical tanker that crossed the Strait directly ever since the New China has been founded.

The direct sail of the "Goddess of Rainbow" across the Strait saved 36 hours compared with previous deviation from Ishigaki-jima Island and significantly improved the operation efficiency of boats. In face of the severe global financial turmoil, the direct sailing of chemical products signifies the opening of a brand new channel for chemical enterprises to lower down logistic costs.

As a result, the chemical enterprises across the Strait have a more solid foundation to weather the storm, and businesses across the Strait can further improve efficiency, promote the mutual communication and study and accelerate the cooperation.

Sinochem International is the first liquid chemical transportation enterprise that acquired "Permit on Water Transportation across Taiwan Straits" issued by the Ministry of Communications in China. Currently, the 25 special chemical tankers owned by Hainan Sinochem Shipping Co., Ltd are qualified for direct shipment of chemicals across the Strait.

Sinochem International shouldered this responsibility because its fleet of special liquid chemical tanker meet with the highest standard in China and boast the largest scale with 30 odd IMO II/III bulk liquid chemical tankers with a carrying capacity from 3000 tons to 17000 tons. All these tankers satisfy international security standards and have the capacity for transporting high-risk liquid chemicals, acids, oil products and other special chemicals.

Sinochem International is the only ship owner capable of transporting epoxypropane, diisocyanate and other high-risk liquid chemicals in China.

In addition to high-standard hardware on ship, Sinochem International has set up a complete professional quality management system for liquid chemical tanker. Based on advanced management and operation technology, ships from Sinochem International have always been in good operation. The fleet kept a high benchmark in terms of security, quality and efficiency, and remained the No. 1 position in domestic high-end hazardous products transportation.
It is reported that after the ice-breaking transportation from Mailiao to Jian, Sinochem International will send its fleet to 11 Taiwan ports including Jilong (including Taibei), Gaoxiong (including Anping), Taizhong, Hualian and Budai as required by customers.
