At 9:58 am, July 10, the SC CHENGDU Vessel Nomination and Delivery Ceremony of Sinochem Int l had its grand opening at Shanghai Minsheng Rd. dock.
Zhang Xuegong, the deputy GM of Sinochem Int l and Chairman of the board of Sinochem Shipping & Enterprises Co. (Hainan) attended the ceremony and made a speech, together with Qin Peiliang, the Deputy GM of Chongqing Shipbuilding Industry Company (CSIC) and Chairman of the board of Chongqing Chuandong Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Corporation.
Zhang indicated in his address that Sinochem Int l is currently the largest liquid chemical transport ship-owner with leading management level and market influence in China. Although the shipping industry is at a low under the impact of financial crisis, the development of Sinochem Int l fleet has never stopped.
The smooth delivery of the vessel SC CHENGDU signifies another landmark of the company s enlarged fleet scale and improved market competitiveness, while reflecting and further enhancing our firm belief of seizing the opportunities and face difficulties squarely in the tough market environment.
Lastly, management from Sinochem Int l and the shipbuilding company cut the ribbon for the successful delivery of SC CHENGDU, expressing their wish for smooth sailing of the new vessel. Important client representatives from SECCO, Sinopec, CSPC and Jiutai Energy and honored guests from our partners, designing institute, classification society, China Ship-owners Mutual Assurance Association, the insurance industry, agencies and relevant industries together witnessed the historical moment.
Sinochem Int l has been keeping a good cooperative relation with the Chuandong Shipyard, successively signing the contracts for building four 3600-ton and two 9000-ton stainless steel chemical vessels. The SC CHENGDU delivered this time is the last vessel for delivery in this project, with its technical requirements and difficulty level among the highest within the domestic industry.
