During first half year of 2010, Mengniu invested RMB 400 million to build ten-thousand-herds modern farm in Tongliao and organic liquid milk plant in Yinchuan. It is known that Mengniu, in order to ensure raw milk quality, has jointly invested 14 ten-thousand-herds farms nationwide so that consumers are able to gradually get access to satisfied and safe milk.

In June, Mengniu s Guanyiru yogurt and future star milk won Product Innovation Award of SIAL food exhibition; in July, Mengniu was selected as exclusive supplier for China Lunar Exploration Program; in August, Mengniu milk won Consumers Most Satisfied Award and Product Innovation Award , in September, Mengniu won the International Food Industry Award by IUFoST. Mengniu has China s first dairy and large scale biogas power plant, so on average, each cow is able to generate 1,000 degree of electricity. This program also integrates farm design into a green development model of economy including planting, breeding, production, biogas power generation and organic recyclable fertilizer production. Mengniu not only firmly holds low carbon concept in production area, but also advocates low carbon transportation in daily life, for example, using polar energy.
