On July 28, 2009, Ahmed Dian Semega, the Malian Minister of Equipment & Transportation, and Isa Hashmi Diano, the Malian Minister of Roads, were invited to visit CGGC. Yang Jixue, President of CGGC and Chairman of CGGC Limited, and Qiu Xiaoping, the Assistant to President of CGGC Limited and the President of No. 2 Company, received the guests.
During the meeting, Yang Jixue first welcomed the Malian guests, and asked Minister Semega to forward his greeting to President Amadou Toumani Tour . He pointed out that through the painstaking efforts in the early period, the construction of Bamako No. 3 Bridge would soon start, and render great changes in a short period. CGGC would keep its promise, perform the contract strictly, and build as fast as possible a high-quality bridge which can embody the China-Mali friendship. He hoped that the Malian government would provide broad space for CGGC to take root in the country.
Mr. Semega said that he had been amazed by the construction progress and the changes on the site since he attended the opening ceremony together with President Amadou Toumani Tour and President Hu Jintao on February 13, 2009, and he admired the devotion and diligence of the CGGC staff, and felt satisfied with the construction progress and quality of the No. 3 Bridge. He remarked that the Malian government would cooperate with the Chinese company to build a China-Mali Friendship Bridge. Considering the poor infrastructure in his country, he welcomed capable Chinese enterprises like CGGC to involve in the construction of roads, airports, bridges, ports and other projects in Mali.
Before the meeting, Qiu Xiaoping attended the Malian guests to visit the grand Three Gorges Project, and introduced the history and current status of CGGC. Mr. Semega expressed sincere appreciation for the equipment and technical strength and advanced management concept of CGGC. He hoped to learn more from Chinese enterprises, and also hoped CGGC would play a bigger part in Mali s infrastructure construction.
