Finishing ceremony of 12 locomotives for Cuba was held in CNR Beijing February 7th Locomotive Works on September 28, 2005. That day is also the commemoration day of 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relation between China and Cuba . This is the first time that Chinese locomotive come into Latin-America area.
The contract of supplying 12 Type Df 7G -C diesel locomotives for Cuba was signed in Beijing on January 24, 2005. This is one of the main cooperation projects after China President Hu Jintao visited the Republic of Cuba in November 2004.

The Premier Minister of Cuba and the First Vice-Minister of Cuba Ministry of Communication presented the ceremony. The Premier Minister expressed high appreciation of the advantage CNR diesel locomotives. He said that the locomotives will play an important ruler in enhance Cuba railway transportation ability and will promote good relationship between China and Cuba .
The ambassador of Cuba took over a key from the director of CNR February 7th Works and started the locomotive. The horsepower of AC-DC locomotive is 1840 kW. They will be shipment to Cuba in November. |
