TCL - New Sponsor Partnership at CEIBS

(2004-06-08,Shanghai) CEIBS is very pleased and privileged to announce that TCL has become a Gifts-in-Kind Fund Sponsorship Partner with the school.

Under the sponsorship agreement, TCL donated RMB1.3 million worth of LCD and PDP IT equipment for the school students, faculty and staff. The equipment was donated to CEIBSmain campus location in Shanghai, as well as to its other offices in Beijing and Shenzhen.

This generous donation from TCL is an essential element to the continuous development and improvement of facilities at the school, as well as ensuring the promotion and provision of the highest standards of IT equipment. TCL and CEIBS have enjoyed a close relationship in recent years, primarily through the school executive education programmes.

On signing of the agreement, Mr. Li Dongsheng, Chairman and President of TCL Corporation commented:"I feel honoured to be a student of CEIBS. At CEIBS I have learnt the most advanced managerial knowledge from exceptional professors. I have also been able to share my managerial experience with many classmates and been able to reflect on the past and sum up my experiences. All the benefits will be of great help to my future managerial work."

It is from this experience that I introduced the CEIBS programme to TCL, in the hope that our company CEOs from different industry groups can also benefit from the programme. Based on the two courses that they have just finished, there is already a broadened vision, a strengthened capability in international operations, and a fit with past managerial practice and theories. All of these are indispensable to TCL during its process of internationalization.

Just as an old Chinese saying goes, "we should return a favour with a favour. I hope earnestly that I can make a few contributions to the development of CEIBS in return for the great help CEIBS is offering to the growth of TCL. The donation made this time by TCL is expected to help CEIBS further improve its facilities and learning environment. Despite the limited contributions a single enterprise can make, I believe that CEIBS will get better and better and bring forth more talented professional managers with the joint efforts and concern of us all."
