Brand valued at RMB 13.6 bln

According to the latest information released by the British brand value consulting company-Brand Finance, CSR was ranked among Global 500 Most Valuable Brands as the sole domestic major equipment manufacturer. This is another remarkable achievement in brand building after the company has made the list of Asian 500 Brands in 2009 and marks the surge in the international brand influence of the company after overall A+H listing.

Global 500 Most Valuable Brands was published on an annual basis by Brand Finance, one of the five international brand evaluation authorities and a distinguished independent British consulting company engaged in brand management and evaluation. The company acquires all the information for brand evaluation from public channels and quantizes brand strength by professional and scientific means. The rankings are widely recognized by listed companies worldwide for their professionalism and exclusivity. The company evaluates and ranks the brands of the listed companies in the world s 32 largest stock markets, and evaluates brands by discounting the expected income from brand franchise at an appropriate rate by means of DCF.

The value of the 500 brands listed totals USD 2.873 trillion, up 26% from the previous year. US retail giant Wal-Mart headed the list with a value of USD 41.365 billion, followed by Google, Coca-Cola, IBM and Microsoft. A total of 19 domestic enterprises were on the list, among which the highest-ranked China Mobile is placed 23rd with a value of USD 18.673 billion. CSR makes the list for the first time and is ranked 476th in the list and 18th among all the domestic enterprises listed with a value of USD 1.987 billion as the sole domestic major equipment manufacturer and B2B enterprise.

Experts said that CSR s ranking benefited from the company s intensive brand building over the past years. Following the successful A+H listing in 2008, CSR has been committed to building a global famous brand. Centering on the objective, the company embarked upon a series of strategic adjustments targeting the international market.

In the past 2009, the total value of CSR s overseas orders topped USD 1.2 billion, up over 60% from 2008. The ranking is an acknowledgement of CSR s efforts in brand building. According to the source, CSR has set the year 2010 as the company s year of brand enhancement.
