Xinhua News Agency, Changsha, January 30 Reporter Su Xiaozhou CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd., a key enterprise in researching, developing and manufacturing metro vehicles, announced recently that the maximum speed of the new-type metro vehicle with independent intellectual property right customized by them for the Guangzhou Asian Games was up to 120 kmph.
The vehicle, far above the current domestic level of 80 to 100 kmph, can effectively increase the operation efficiency of the rail transit system in Guangzhou.
The 16th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in Guangzhou in this November, Guangzhou Metro Company correspondingly mapped out the objective of line and network construction in 2010 to ensure that 80% of the Asian venues are accessible to metro before the opening of the Asian Games. The 30-kilometer Airport Line on the north extension of Guangzhou Metro Line 3 is one of the major projects.
According to the source, CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co.,Ltd will manufacture 150 B-type metro vehicles with a maximum speed of 120 kmph and a maximum carrying capacity of about 2,000 passengers for the Airport Line in Guangzhou. The first batch of vehicles has been delivered to Guangzhou Metro Company recently. Before the opening of the Asian Games, CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co.,Ltd will deliver and put into operation another 18 high-speed metro trains as such.
