The so-called third generation automobile steel, of which the lightweight and safety index higher than the first generation and production cost less than the second generation meeting what scientists design and expect for, is high strength and high plastic steel. It realizes the perfect combination and breakthrough of high tensile strength and high elongation rate, and becomes the target of research and development by materials research staff from each country as high-end products in steel products. The successful research and manufacture of the third generation of automobile steel has fundamentally changed the situation that China tracking study foreign automobile steel technology in a long time.
