October 19 marked the commencing of a batch of key post-quake construction projects in Deyang, Sichuan Province. These projects included the relocation of Dongfang Steam Turbine Works (under Dongfang Electrical Company Limited, or DEC) with an investment of 5000 million yuan, the oil drilling and production equipment project of Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd with an investment of 3500 million yuan, the 80,000-ton die forging project of China National Erzhong Group Co.(China Erzhong) with a total investment of 1517 million yuan and the construction project of the manufacturing base for the key parts of large clean-and-high-efficient power-generating sets for Dongfang Boiler Group Co., Ltd (DBC) etc.
Leaders and guests from both the governments and enterprises were invited to the event, including Jiang Jufeng, Deputy Secretary of CPC Sichuan Committee and Governor of Sichuan; Fang Xiaofang, Secretary of CPC Deyang Municipal Committee; Zhang Zhiying, President of Dongfang Steam Turbine Works; and other leaders from the provincial government departments. Tian Ye, Chairman of MCC Shijiu Construction Co., Ltd (Shijiu), was also invited to the ceremony as one of the representatives of the construction units.
The relocation project of Dongfang Steam Turbine Works, with a total investment of 5000 million yuan, covers a land area of 2600mu (or 1,733,420 square meters) and has a total construction area of 600,000 square meters.
Shijiu Chengdu Steel Structure Company acquired one of the sub-projects on September 24 with a bidding price of 120 million yuan to provide EPC services like construction, intallation adn decoration etc for the workshop with a construction area of 45,000m2. The project period is asked to be 240 days and 6000 tons of steel structures will be involved.
