Academic experts guide Dehong's development

At the invitation of Dehong government, Academician Deng Xiuxin from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Liu Yan, deputy director of the Science and Education Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, conducted a tour of Dehong Dai-Jingpo Ethnic Autonomous Prefecture from August 6 to 7.

He visited the Agriculture Research Institute of the County to learn about the work on rice breeding. In the Dehong Hougu Coffee, the head of the corporation introduced the instant coffee production process to him and held informal discussions on topics including the foundation construction of the corporation, industry development and the distribution of farmers' interest.

In the morning of August 7, Deng and Liu were invited to the symposium held by local government to exchange their constructive thoughts and suggestions on the production of lemon. Deng said, Dehong has advantages in climate and resources to develop lemon production industry, which will benefit the local people and increase their income.

Liu raised the issue that planting lemon needs careful and scientific planning. The standard of the construction of lemon orchards should be set according to actual local conditions.

During their visit, they also discussed the possibility to incorporate local agricultural divisions and higher learning institutes.
