The Protection Regulations for the Changsha Tongguan Kiln Park came into force officially on Jan.1, 2011.
The kiln is located in Caitaoyuan Village of Dingzi (T-shaped) Town in Changsha s Wangcheng County. The former porcelain site boasts a history of more than 1,000 years dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD.). It covers an area of about 2 square kilometers and has been listed among the 100 major cultural relic sites under the state protection. In February, 2010, the project of the National Archeological Park of Changsha Tonguan Kiln took the lead in winning the approval from the country. Up to now, the project is under construction very smoothly and the park is expected to open to the public on May 1 this year. The application of the ancient kiln for the status of the World Cultural Heritage is also proceeding orderly.
According to the regulation, the two sections of the kiln will be under hierarchal protection. The construction control zone is designated beyond the preservation area. The regulation also specifies ten prohibitions within the preserved area of the kiln.
